ELEMENTARY - GRADES 1+2

This unit is designed to foster creativity, innovation, and collaboration through hands-on learning with the Group Maker Kit. Students will explore storytelling by designing characters and scenes, building models, and creating stop-motion animations that integrate basic STEAM concepts like circuits and motors. The activities promote teamwork, empathy, and communication, while also enhancing fine motor skills, spatial awareness, and narrative thinking. By encouraging original expression in a supportive environment, the unit helps students build confidence and develop both creative and technical skills.

  • Lesson 1: Creative Exploration & Model Building

    Students explore the components through hands-on play, then work in small groups to design and build a unique model—encouraging creativity, teamwork, and basic engineering through playful experimentation.

  • Lesson 2: Storytelling & Character Creation

    Students explore the OffBits world by assembling characters and imagining their stories and environments—boosting creativity, storytelling, and open-minded thinking.

  • Lesson 3: Scene Planning & Environment Design

    Groups build on their characters' stories by writing scenes and bringing them to life through visual design—merging imagination with creative expression.

  • Lesson 4: Set Creation, Role Assignment & Rehearsals

    Students design sets and props to reflect their characters’ worlds, turning imagination into reality while practicing teamwork, planning, and creative thinking.

  • Lesson 5: Puppet Theater Performance

    In the final stage, students bring their stories to life with a puppet theater performance, showcasing their characters through short plays. This fun presentation celebrates creativity, teamwork, and expressive storytelling.
